NITTO KOHKI withdraws Atra Ace Magnetic Base Drill type CLA-2720
Dear Valued Customer,
After careful consideration, Nitto Kohki has decided to discontinue the manufacture and sale of its CLA-2720 Atra Drilling Machine. The actual Mag Drilling machine has no issues and the operation meets all the requirements and specifications it has been designed for, but unfortunately we have found a minor issue with the battery charger equipped with the tool.
The battery charger having failed the new IEC Standards testing requirements. This new standard (60335.229) refers to the specifics of overvoltage and overcharging of batteries in battery powered portable tools. We have not experienced or had any failures or concerns occur at any time prior to this testing, and we don't expect any problems with existing products already in the market.
However this means we will no longer promote or sell any more CLA-2720 Mag Base Drilling machines into the Australian market. We would like to emphasize that the Mag Drilling machine product has no issues, and the operation of this unit meets all the requirements and specifications it has been designed for.
We will continue to support our customers with spare parts and batteries for this product according to the legislation for outdated products. The parts will be sold and charged as per normal, warranties including battery chargers can still be claimed under the warranty policy.
We appreciate and value your partnership. While we regret any inconvenience this announcement may cause, we are eager to supply your future product requirement with our quality product lines.
