Li-ion batteries have two important specifications, the voltage and the Amperage. The Amperage ( Amp hours AH ) indicates the duration of usage of the battery the higher the AH the longer the run time.
Higher Amperage batteries are generally heavier than lower amperage so it can be an advantage to have smaller batteries. Also Batteries over 6amp are considered to be dangerous goods and have restrictions on how they can be shipped.
Brushless motors are lighter more powerful and more efficient than non brushless motors so it is an advantage to buy a tool with a brushless motor. However brushed motors are still widely used and for most tools are still suitable for heavy use.
Extra features would often include and on board light which would definitely be a great feature to have if you continuously have to work in poorly lit areas. Belt clips are also a handy feature.
